Introduction to Music Therapy

Two Public Talks with Demonstration & Discussion

Broadwater Village Hall, Goosander Way, Thamesmead, SE28 0ER

Tuesday 7th September 2021 2.30pm - 4pm

Tuesday 14th September 2021 2.30pm - 4pm

The Trust is delighted to welcome Elizabeth Howe who is a newly trained Nordoff-Robbins music therapist. She will be with Kairos for September, October & November 2021.

Elizabeth tells us that the Nordoff-Robbins approach is suitable for everyone. It offers people the chance to experience themselves differently. It gives a sense of connection, empowerment, companionship and sometimes transcendence through making music together. The sessions can be individual, in pairs or in groups. Interventions are gentle, with a lot of improvisation and a chance to bring one’s own wishes, ideas, musical heritage and biography.

The talk and taster sessions are open to existing and past Kairos patients and any interested Thamesmead residents.
